Amy Cuddy is an American social psychologist, author, and lecture known for her research on stereotyping and discrimination. emotion, power, nonverbal behavior, and the effects of social stimuli on hormone levels. Her research on “power posing” quickly became famous after her 2012 TED talk. Her TED talk delivered at TEDGlobal in 2012 has been viewed more than 40 million times and ranks among the most viewed TED talks.
Cuddy has done studies on the origins and outcomes of how people judge and influence each other. She has done research and collected experimental data on stereotyping and discrimination, the causes and consequences of feeling ambivalent emotions, nonverbal behavior and communication. As a lecturer Cuddy has spoken about the psychology of power, influence, nonverbal communication, and prejudice.
